We had a super Thanksgiving - although with our brood going anywhere and doing anything is sometimes challenging. We had lunch at Mema and Pepa's on Thursday, and then went to Gigi and PawPaw's for their traditional Friday dinner. Both houses were full of the best family fun - cousins! As usual - Pepa was the big draw. Phillip and Kaleb snuck some time at the video games while the big boys weren't around. The blocks were a big hit at Gigi's.
I was out riding the kids around today and I came upon a house that looks very much like the one I've been carrying around inside my head for a long time. I guess you could say I dream BIG! Maybe one day!
Sunday was Phillip's second birthday party. We just can't believe our baby boy is two years old! We had a great time eating Thomas the Tank Engine birthday cake and riding bikes in the cul de sac. Thanks so much to everyone who came and to those who showered Phillip with gifts. What a lucky little boy he is! He and Selah both have enjoyed all the new things to play with and explore. Phillip had his first major "motorcycle" accident last night. He ran past the adults guarding the cul de sac and took off down the hill on his big wheel. A major rollover followed, complete with a kiss to the asphalt and road rash. Boys will be boys!
We had a great night. We started at the church and then went to a friend's neighborhood. Phillip really enjoyed ringing doorbells more than any other part of the evening. We had to steer clear of any masks. Phillip does not like "spooky man" and got really upset at the scarier costumes. We really enjoyed thinking up our costumes at the last minute and I think we look great. I'm Jim, Jim is an Australian cowboy, Phillip is a conductor, Tripp is a "gansta" and Selah is a Dalmatian (thanks Erin and Ostendorfs).
